2015 CM Division Call for Papers and Professional Development Workshops Call for Proposals

2015 CM Division Call for Papers and Professional Development Workshops Call for Proposals

The Conflict Management Division is soliciting calls for paper submissions and proposals for professional development workshops (PDWs) at the 2015 Academy of Management meetings in Vancouver, BC.

Paper submissions appropriate for the Conflict Management Division may fit broadly in our domain statement: the nature and management of conflicts at the individual, group, organizational, inter-organizational and societal level; power processes including influence, coalitions, coercion, deterrence, and persuasion; bargaining and negotiation, negotiator characteristics and behaviors; collaboration and competition; third party interventions (such as facilitation, arbitration, mediation); distributive and procedural justice and dispute resolution procedures. Major topics include application of the above conceptual foci to a wide variety of contexts including team interactions, intercultural relations, organizational diversity, labor relations, workplace disputes, community conflict and public policy development.

PDWs offer opportunities to explore cutting edge ideas, share expertise and best practices, and to engage in stimulating discussions. They can concern substantive issues, focus on “state of the art” research or teaching, or involve practice relating to conflict. They can also take a variety of forms including roundtables, town hall meetings, and debates. Regardless of format, workshops should be interactive and interesting to CM members and have some broad appeal to multiple divisions.
